Introduction

In today’s fast-paced betting environment, users demand a swift and seamless experience. We noticed that the majority of our users (94.87%) were placing single bets, primarily on live betting events. However, the legacy bet slip was complicated, featuring unnecessary options that increased the time and complexity of placing a bet. This was especially counterproductive for users interested in quick, spontaneous wagers on live events. To address these challenges, we developed and launched the quick bet, which simplifies the process and reduces the time needed to place a bet.

Objectives

The quick bet was designed with the following objectives:

Minimize bet placement time

Streamline the interface to allow users to place bets as quickly as possible.

Reduce rejected bets

Simplify the process to decrease the number of rejected bets due to market expiration or inactive statuses.

Enhance user experience

Offer a clear, user-friendly alternative to the legacy bet slip, eliminating unnecessary options that slow down the process.

Encourage higher betting amounts

IImplement machine-learning-based algorithms to dynamically suggest betting amounts that encourage users to place higher bets gradually, based on their average previous bets.

Implementation

The quick bet launched in June, focusing on delivering a straightforward, fast, and efficient betting experience. With the new feature, users could place single bets on live events with minimal steps, aligning with the predominant betting behavior observed.

Additionally, to promote higher bets, we implemented quick amount suggestions. These suggestions were developed using a machine learning algorithm that adjusted the suggested bet amounts incrementally based on each user’s historical betting habits. By analyzing average betting patterns, the algorithm increased suggested amounts by small percentages over time, identifying the ideal point at which users were likely to place higher bets.

Outcomes

We saw a steady decrease in rejection rates from June to October, with a noticeable drop starting immediately after the quick bet feature was introduced.

Decrease in rejected bets

The chart below shows a clear reduction in both the total rejection rate and the rejection rate due to market expiration or inactivity over the months following the quick bet launch.

Sustained high volume of single bets

From October 1st to November 15th, 94.87% of all bets placed were single bets, indicating the continued preference for this betting style among users.

Revenue generation and stake trends

During the same period, 96.44% of the total turnover was generated by single bets, with 94.7% of stakes on live betting events. This aligns with the quick bet feature’s primary focus on single, live bets.

Increased average bet amounts

Through the machine-learning-based quick amount suggestions, we observed an increase in average betting amounts, as users were subtly encouraged to place higher bets.

Decrease in rejection rates from June to October

Bottom line

The quick bet feature effectively met its goals by making the betting process faster and easier for users, particularly those focused on single bets and live events. The reduction in rejected bets signals improved user satisfaction, as fewer bets were declined due to market or status issues. The smart quick amount suggestions proved successful, as users gradually increased their bet sizes, contributing to higher overall turnover.

Supportive user flows

The following user flows illustrates what happens in each specific case, providing users with a quick tool to address errors and understand limitations or issues effectively

Accept odds change

This feature allows the user to accept updated odds automatically if they change while placing a bet, ensuring the bet is processed without delays.

Bet placement failed due to a technical issue

This message indicates that a system error prevented the bet from being processed. The user can retry after a short delay or contact support if the issue persists.

Bet amount above limit

This message appears when the bet amount exceeds the allowed limit. The user can manually adjust the amount to meet the limit or tap “Set amount manually” to auto-fill the minimum allowed amount, ensuring the bet can be placed successfully.
